Researching great female artists from the Renaissance and Rococo periods my current work has been inspired from this period in history. Appreciating the feminine aesthetics throughout art history and looking for connections within the domestic space.

Using luminous colours, creating contrast between light and dark. Bold brush strokes and creating pastel coloured calm. I prefer to work with oils as it holds its viscosity for longer. I love to explore large and small scale pieces capturing space and giving purpose to my surroundings.

Im continously exploring the balance of strength, hope, sadness, fragility, sensuality and power of the existence through composition and colour. My paintings explore the figure taking up space in their surroundings.

Exploring the findings further through photography, charcoal, pastel, collage, acrylic, and ink.

Colour is important to me and I use it to capture the essence of the objects, landscapes and

people around me, painting from life and photos . Oil is my preferred medium and the movement that comes with it especially when painting on MDF and Canvas.

Romanticism  and the Rococo was the start of the women’s feminist movement and through these paintings and

drawings I want to empower women and their different fantastic heroic inspirational lives. The Romanticism period was a time for individuality, inspiration, idealism, imagination and having objects of feeling, emotion, desire and fantasy.

I hope you enjoy my art.
